Nanaimo Firehall #1
MGM is the mechanical contractor for Firehall #1 in Nanaimo. Because this is the main command station for emergency, it is utilizing post-disaster construction which means it’s designed to withstand various types of disasters. This affects all construction from materials selected to system implemented. It’s much more heavy duty. They’re also using a VRF system for the cooling, which is unique.
The old firehall is still in use while the new firehall is being built, and it will be demolished afterwards.
